"I was a helper, by nature and trade. My heart ached to connect with and help others. But in my own efforts, I crumbled. The faith I had in this small box for Sunday morning church was not enough. When I began to seek and abide in Christ, He transformed my heart, my marriage, my capacity to be a mom, and began seeping out into my community. " ~ Kaylee
"I grew up with Jesus. I knew the Bible, but sharing Jesus with others terrified me. While Christian schools had been a blessing in my life, I was using them to protect my kids even though deep down I was feeling called to be somewhere else. When God took me out of my comfort zone to move to a new state, I was forced to draw closer to Him. When my kids, now in public school, started to face the pressures of the world that I so feared, God shocked me with the ways He intended to use those things for good. " ~ Heather Somewhere along the way, He gifted us with each other. God, without a doubt, is on the move, here and now. We are truly just along for the ride. Our story is one small piece of God’s incredibly huge story. In November 2017, we started meeting together weekly to pray over our school and study God’s word. We each continued to spend time daily with the Lord and He began to open doors.
Abiding in Christ and inviting Him to work in us and through us changed everything. Jesus says if we abide in Him then we will bear fruit that will last. John 15: 4-5 says, “Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me. I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.” A bit further in John 15:11, Jesus says “These things I have spoke to you, that My joy may remain in you, and that your joy may be full.” We are completely in awe of what God can do. The joy Jesus promises is real and we can have it now. Are you seeking the Lord in all parts of your life? Are you going to the only living water of Christ regularly? Where is your community? How is God wanting to use you in His incredible story? Wherever God has placed you, He will use you if you let him. Abide in Christ with a humble and open heart FIRST. Ask a friend, or ask God to give you a friend to pray with. He will walk alongside you, and you will start to see and feel God moving in and around you. Be ready to hear Him ask you to take specific steps of obedience! |
